Local businesses invited Cr Gautam Gupta to discuss various issues that affect them. Many local businesses were represented including restaurants, services providers such as mortgage brokers, accountants etc.

Cr Gupta noted the recent increase in spate of violence and took note of suggestions provided including installation of CCTV cameras across the Werribee CBD area. He said, “Safety of people and property is of paramount importance to us. As a mature, developed city I will support any measure that can improve business confidence.”

Other issues raised centred around high rates, rising costs, crime and the newly imposed Fire Services Levy.

Cr Gupta urged businesses to join and support their local Chamber of Commerce. He said, “The Werribee Chamber of Commerce provides a common voice for all the businesses of the Werribee City Centre as well as hosting promotions and events to attract Wyndham and Melbourne residents to the area. The Chamber has a direct access and voice on important matters concerning businesses.”
